Interações entre o Ministério Público e a sociedade civil: esboço de uma tipologia / Interactions between the Prosecution’s Office and civil society: outline of a typology

Abstract

The article analyses current possibilities of interaction between Public Prosecution Service and civil society based on case studies: three alliances between the Federal PS (MPF in local acronym) and NGOs to enforce the right to accessibility, inclusive education and against human rights violations on the internet; and balance of MPF’s Education and Health Working Groups. I outlined a typology of interactions between MP and civil society organizations around two key variables: focus of action (judicial or extrajudicial) and degree of formalization. This original approach is taken up in the light of the trajectories of the two MPF’s WGs. Finally, opportunities and limits for these new relations between state and civil society are highlighted.
