Abstract

The low representation of women on Boards of Directors demonstrates the gender discrimination that still exists in workplaces, for the reason that, although companies employ a large number of workers, they occupy positions of lesser economic and social relevance. The number of women has been increasing at a slow speed due to several structural barriers and often not visible, which is why there is a need to implement positive action policies as an accelerator of this process, with quotas being the most effective means to improvement of the current scenario.
