This paper analyzes the cryptocurrencies market in terms of its origin, characteristics and social repercussions in the contemporary world and in the context of criminal law, particularly, with regard to the crime of money laundering. It discusses the current regulatory scenario in international and national law systems. In conclusion, strategies are proposed to prevent crypto-laundering.
