Abstract

This article succinctly exposes the background of the penal codification of the Republic of Peru and especially the Penal Code of 1924, whose main promoter was Víctor M. Maúrtua, who took the draft of the Swiss Penal Code, studied, adapted and improved it legislatively according to the reality of the country at that time.
